Summary = Floridians Get First Viewing of Baroness Elisa in America
Press Release
Body = The incomparable Baroness Elisa defines the best in cabaret
theater and South Florida audiences will be invited to attend the
live recording at
the Crest Theatre on April 19, 20, and 21st in Delray Beach, Florida.
The Tuesday evening performance (April 19th at 8pm) is expected
to draw a large opening night gay and lesbian audience as the Baroness
is a well-respected diva in Europe and Australia. The gay audience
has always demonstrated the foresight to participate in the live
recording of historic musical and musical theater events. Great
musical theater songs the Baroness has chosen for this live recording
of
“Baroness Elisa: Embarrassing Moments” are dramatically
intense, touching, witty, ironic, or just plain charming. Baroness
Elisa, who has performed on world stages
throughout Europe and Australia, noted, “A live recording
of this show will allow us to capture something authentic and magical
that only happens with a live audience. It’s a bit scary because
studio work allows for retakes. I guess the gymnast and acrobat
in me wants to be back on the high wire and take the risk of an
extraordinary performance.”
Indeed the intimate 300+ seat Crest Theatre provides a cabaret theater
venue where charisma and audience connection can thrive and be captured
on a live recording. The Crest Theatre is located at the historic
Old School Square, 51 North Swinton Ave., in downtown Delray Beach.
There will be a total of four live recorded performances,
three at 8pm on April 19, 20, and 21 and one at 2pm on April 20th.
Tickets are $42 and group sales are available at a discount with
groups of 10 or more. According to producer, TR Cutler, “The
slender red-headed ingénue melts the hearts
of audiences. She is in every sense of the word a beautiful woman,
earthy, gentle, and comfortable with herself, and in touch with
her audience. The Baroness will be backed up by a bassist, drummer,
and pianist. To capture this voice in a live
format is essential and it would not surprise me if Grammy voters
reward the Baroness with a nomination next year.”
