to 2005 SkillsUSA top student contest winners.
Chadds Ford,
PA – May, 2005 – Bergwall Productions, a producer and

Specifically Bergwall will award student winners in all 50 States
for the Automotive Service Technology category. Bergwall’s
award will go to the top three State High School student finalists
as well as the top three State College finalists, in each State.
Each of the 300 student finalists will receive one full year of
unlimited access to Bergwall’s complete line of 29 Online
Courses valued at about $5,800.00 per student.
SkillsUSA is
a partnership of students, teachers and industry, working together
to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Bergwall Productions
is a privately owned business that has been producing educational
training materials for over 30 years.
SkillsUSA contestants
will demonstrate their ability to perform jobs and skills based
on the task list outlined by the National Institute for Automotive
Service
Excellence (ASE) and the National Automotive Technicians Education
Foundation (NATEF). Workstations consist of on-vehicle, simulations,
bench and component testing, as well as, a written test. Contestants
will be judged on technical
competency, accuracy, quality, safety, and ability to follow directions.
Bergwall has
developed what everyone is talking about and many want to implement,
effective Online Courses for assessment, training and accountability.
Bergwall’s Online Courses are a perfect means of giving automotive
students study materials that can be accessed, via the Internet,
in school or at home. Bergwall’s highly rated 29 Courses will
captivate Automotive students motivating them to spend time
learning their trade on their own time. Bergwall has also developed
a strong accountability feature that tracks and records all student
activities and all test
scores.
Eric Bergwall, President of Bergwall Productions, Inc, says “All
of our Online Courses have been meticulously written by ASE Certified
Master Technicians. Our crystal-clear writing style is the backbone
to our eye-popping, high-quality Video
sequences detailing important shop skills and correct procedures.
The content is professionally produced and more importantly, it’s
accurate. Produced in America, there are no problems with foreign
terminology or translations.”
With the availability
of State-wide Licenses, all of the Instructors and Students in the
State will be on the same page. Bergwall can help upgrade and standardize
instructional programs.
Presently our 29 Online Courses include Auto Shop Safety, Shop Skills
Series covering every system on the car, OBD-II, and ASE Test Preparation,
all totaling
over 100 hours of information. These Online Courses are designed
for serious automotive students and professional Technicians alike.
Mr. Bergwall also say’s, “While our Online Courses can
certainly be used for group instruction, the real value is in the
self-paced individual instruction. These
Online Courses are available from any Internet connected computer
24/7. In other words, these brand new Online Courses are accessible
in the Auto Shop, the Media Center, the School Library, at Home,
at a friend’s house or even at the Public Library. The self-instruction
application of these Online Courses is particularly important. They
actually help to build a sense of accomplishment. In addition, no
matter how many times the student needs to go over the materials,
the computer will never tease him or call him stupid. “
One of the great benefits of these Online Courses is that they support
the strongest motivation for success in school, namely student INTEREST.
Their motivation, personal INTEREST will carry the student beyond
the walls of the school. Our experience shows that students will
spend time studying with these Online Courses because they want
to SUCCEED.
Bergwall’s Online Courses are appropriate for use in Job Corps,
Community Colleges, Tech Schools, High Schools as well as adult
or corporate training programs.
Available Online
Courses include: Shop Safety, Basic Shop Math (June 2005) Generic
OBD-II, OBD-II Ford, OBD-II Chrysler, OBD-II GM, Five-Gas Analysis,
Customer Service and Installing an EFI System. In addition, Bergwall’s
Practical Shop Skills series
including Engines, Auto Trans, Drivetrain, Undercar Systems, Brake
Systems, Starting, Charging and Electrical, Climate Control, Driveability,
and Advanced
Driveability.
Another tremendous
resource is Bergwall’s Online ASE Test Prep Courses covering
A1-A8 & L1, P1 and C1. The ASE Test Preparation Series is designed
to assist
technicians striving toward ASE Certification or in many cases for
technicians interested in refreshing themselves for re-certification.
These Courses are
designed to help identify strengths and weaknesses, allowing you
better focus on what you need to know to pass the Test.
America’s
competitiveness in the world marketplace ultimately depends upon
its ability to produce, maintain and repair high quality goods and
services, delivered on time and at reasonable cost. While many factors
contribute to productivity, none is more important than education.
According to
Automotive Instructor Samuel Jeanrenaud in Harrisonville, MO, “Bergwall’s
Automotive Courses are the Best I’ve used in 22 years of teaching.”
Joe Sequin of Newport VT stated, “Again, Bergwall hits the
nail on the head. Technical
nature of the Course sustains all requirements from an instructor’s
point of view. Student’s attention is held by modern format
and pace.” In addition, Steve Hiscox, President Automotive
Training Center Exton PA, said “Bergwall has produced an invaluable
resource for both novice and experienced technicians alike.”
