The 11th Annual Micromachine Summit will be held in the
United States for the first time, allowing key U.S.-based players to host
influential representatives from the international Microsystems community.

Press Release Summary = The Micromachine Summit will be held May 1st - 4th, 2005 at
the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, Richardson, TX. The Micromachine Summit is
the only conference of its kind where worldwide Micro-Nano Technology activities;
including key industrial, academic and government initiatives; are discussed in a
roundtable environment. Delegations of three to four key people per region in the
microtechnology arena are invited to participate in the Summit.
Press Release Body = The objectives of the summit are to:
• Exchange information on the current state of MNT activity in various regions of
the world,
• Introduce the attendees to a community of businesses, universities, government
agencies, and service providers focused on this technology,
• Provide a forum for world-wide networking with leaders in MicroNano Technologies
(MNT)
• Showcase and promote regional MNT efforts and facilities.
Bruce Kirchhoff, distinguished professor of the New Jersey Institute of Technology,
will be the keynote reception speaker on the topic of the U.S. Government's SBIR
program which has been emulated by governments worldwide. He will describe how the
SBIR legislation evolved and was passed during his tenure as Chief Economist of the
U. S. Small Business Administration, and his subsequent research that demonstrated
the importance of new technology firms to economic growth.
A limited number of observer seats are available on a first come, first serve basis.
