Press Release Body = Taipei, Taiwan, August 19, 2005 -- AXIOMTEK, a world renowned provider of industrial and embedded systems and components, announced the release of the VIA Eden-powered 3.5-inch Embedded SBC, the SBC846A1. Available in a choice of configurations and options, the SBC offers developers a reliable platform to build
on with the added benefit of being able to realize faster times to market.

The SBC846A1 is a low power and fanless board with a VIA CLE266 + VT8237R chipset and VIA Eden processor speeds of either 1GHz or 667MHz. Available with up to 1GB of DDR SODIMM system memory, the board supports DualView CRT and LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) displays, with optional Dual LVDS LCD mode, making it an
ideal solution for gaming or display intensive applications.

The SBC also features four USB 2.0 ports, dual 10/100 Base-T Fast Ethernet ports, a DMA supported CompactFlash Type-II socket, and an AC’97 Audio for incredible sound. Easy expansion is available thru the Mini PCI Type-III socket, and hard drives and other peripherals are easily added by the SATA-150 and PATA-133 support. Furthermore, customers have the alternative of the SBC846A3 which created PCI-104 expansion interface. Having such smaller footprint/compact design, both the platforms can be applied widely for varied applications with high performance and extreme low power consumption.

The SBC846A1 can also be placed in pre-configured embedded enclosures to serve as an all-in-one solution. These embedded MicroBox enclosures come with 43W, 60W, or 70W power supplies. The board has the right features to fit any market, but is specifically designed to fit into harsh environment applications where a rugged
design is a must.
