Body = Orama, the leading independent manufacturer of work surfaces
and associated decorative products presents the new solid worksurface
Maia. Inspired by latest building and design trends, the colour
palate includes the natural tones of Cappuccino, Cream, Vanilla
and Corallo which are completed by the cooler, distinguished shades
of Vulcano and Lava.
The Maia solid
surface range provides consumers with the option of a solid surface
without the associated costs. Whereas in the past the choice has
been between a laminate or granite (or similar stone) with a huge
price differential, Maia sits nicely between these two options.
Peter Holt, Sales Director of Orama comments: "With Maia, consumers
have the opportunity to trade up from a laminate and aspire to
a quality solid surface without the price hike. Retailers can up
sell consumers to the next price bracket and achieve higher value
sales."
The mid tonal
colour Cappuccino works well with wood style kitchen doors, Lava
with its small speckles of brown and black evokes the attributes
of natural stone and Vulcano creates a dark richness of solid black
with hints of yellow and red which works well alongside richer grains
of wood such as walnut. The range is complemented
by lighter tones of Cream, Vanilla and Corallo which highlight the
company's vision for the kitchen design market. Maia benefits from
point-of-sale support materials including a dedicated Maia display
stand to showcase the range. The counter top unit includes removable
A5 samples of all six colours. The packaging for the range is fully
branded and specified to the highest standards, including the jointing
kits.
As one of the
the most technically proven solid surfaces, rigorous independent
pre-production testing for chemical and stain resistance, notched
impact and tensile strength, heat distortion, impact stress, abrasion,
light fastness, fungal resistance, food safety and bacterial resistance
has ensured product quality.
Unlike other
solid surface products, Maia is factory finished and does not require
sanding after installation. Installation is simple with no templates
or special tools required for jointing. The virtually invisible
joints can be achieved without specialist training and the worksurface
can be fitted at the same time as the rest of the kitchen. For installers
wanting further guidance on fitting Maia worksurfaces, Orama offers
a training academy.
Orama offers
