Chuck Kaiton will appear
each weekday afternoon on WRBZ prior to every Carolina Hurricanes game and each weekday morning following a Carolina Hurricanes game. In addition, Chuck will be used as WRBZ’s exclusive hockey analyst throughout the season.

“Chuck will provide valuable insight into the team and the sport; furthermore, our listeners have always appreciated Chuck’s tremendous knowledge of the sport of hockey,” said WRBZ Program Director Adam Gold.

Chuck Kaiton stated: “I'm happy that I’ll be able to update fans on the Hurricanes this season with the premier sports radio station in the Triangle…my association with 850 the Buzz has been most enjoyable.”

Chuck Kaiton has been the team’s radio play-by-play announcer since the organization joined the NHL in 1979. Kaiton served as President of the NHL Broadcasters Association for seventeen seasons from 1986-2003. In 2004 the NHL Hall of Fame in Toronto, Ontario awarded Chuck Kaiton the Foster HewittMemorial Award for his work
as a broadcaster.

Also announced by WRBZ was the continuation of the popular “Stormfront” and“Aftermath” programs. WRBZ will produce and air pre and post game shows prior to and after the majority of Carolina Hurricane games, both home and away. The Stormfront and Aftermath programs have been a staple of the radio station and for fans since the Hurricanes came to the Triangle in 1996.
