The Courier-Journal chooses company as outstanding vendor for its newspaper handling and sortation system at the paper's new production facility

(St. Louis, MO: October 20, 2005) FKI Logistex® (www.fkilogistex.com), a global leader in integrated material handling solutions, announces that it has won a 2005 Ozzie award from the International Newspaper Group (ING: www.azcentral.com/advert/ing), a non-profit trade organization that promotes excellence in press and post-press production operations.

FKI Logistex, known in the newspaper industry for its high-speed palletizers and conveyor systems, was selected for the award by the ING's 2005 conference host newspaper, The Courier-Journal (www.courier-journal.com) of Louisville, Kentucky. The Courier-Journal selected FKI Logistex for the newspaper handling and sortation
system it designed and installed in the paper's new $85 million production facility.

As one of only four vendors selected for the Ozzie by The Courier-Journal, FKI Logistex was commended by The Courier-Journal management for its non-traditional approach to bundle transit and sortation. The FKI Logistex solution centers on its industry-leading UniSort® XV sliding-shoe sorter, a high-speed, zero-impact
sortation system that offers virtually no bundle damage when compared with competitive solutions using high-impact, air-based pushers.
