Sourcing in China saves UK manufactures up to 80%
The growing trend for UK manufacturers to source their components from China, is making them extra competitive and in some cases, reducing their cost structures buy up to 80%.
Manchester, UK -12/12/05 - A recent survey of UK manufacturers by Bob Richards MBA, has concluded that the potential cost savings to manufacturers to source cheaper sub components are absolutely huge. \"China is often seen as a threat to the less competitive UK manufacturing sector, but there are also many opportunities to take advantage of the pricing differentials, when sourcing in China\" ways Bob
Bob, an expert in strategic manufacturing, is currently converting his findings into a white paper, has been studying the growing trade relationships between the UK and China for the past two years. Whilst most manufacturers in the west have traditionally felt threatened by cheaper products being imported from China and the far east, his finding show that there are always opportunities, even for a manufacturer. Whilst manufacturers have relied on the local support networks to supply their sub components, materials and packaging, out sourcing this activity to China can produce instant cost out benefits.
\"The opportunity to take cost out is one for the many and not the few\" says Bob. \"How many manufacturers ship their goods in some form of packaging, for example? Can this be sourced cheaper in China? In many cases Yes!\"
One of the conclusions of his white paper finds that manufactures with the vision and mobility to add value to products produced cheaply in China, are in a good position to benefit from China\'s dramatic impact on global manufacturing. \"It\'s a matter of finding a creative fit between the two differing strengths of both the UK and China\" explains Bob.
