Press Release Summary = Technology partnership has benefits for everyone involved
Press Release Body = Ebermannstadt, Germany - January 17, 2006. Siemens Communications has accepted Vierling as an "Advanced Partner" in the Technology category of its Enterprise Partner Program. Both companies as well as their mutual customers can expect to benefit from this increased level of cooperation. Siemens will support Vierling in developing new products and applications that are optimized for Siemens HiPath systems and other Siemens solutions. For its part, Vierling brings many years of experience with mobile radio modules from Siemens. In addition, both companies intend to work together more closely in marketing their products.
Benefits for everyone involved "Internationally active companies that offer products and services which are used by mutual customers and are 'HiPath Ready' certified can become Advanced Partners of Siemens", said Dr. Udo Bochum, who is Vice President of the HiPath Partner Program. "The objective of our technology partner program is to round out our HiPath portfolio to build complete solutions by incorporating selected products from technology partners who are 'HiPath Ready' certified."
Complementary products It is already common to see products and services from Vierling and Siemens used together. For over ten years now, Vierling has used GSM modules from Siemens to build powerful GSM gateways that provide interconnectivity between mobile radio, fixed network and voice over IP (VoIP) systems. GSM gateways from Vierling are used primarily to reduce the cost of making calls to mobile radio networks and to link rural regions to telephone networks. "These gateways represent a useful addition to any Siemens HiPath telephone system", noted Dr. Bochum. "For our customers, they help to boost the value of their investment into telecommunications infrastructure from Siemens."
Cooperation in product integration Both companies expect this cooperation to benefit the integration of their products. Vierling will participate in special technology training sessions and gain access to extended developer support and special technical documentation. Vierling also plans to have additional GSM gateways certified for operation with HiPath systems. For its part, Siemens expects to profit from Vierling's years of experience in using mobile radio modules in commercial applications involving GSM gateways, coin- and card-based telephone systems, alarm generation systems and remote-control technology.
New marketing perspectives As part of this technology partnership, Vierling and Siemens will cooperate more when it comes to marketing their products. "This will include joint appearances at tradeshows, cooperation on major projects and sales via the Siemens commercial network", said Wolfgang Peter, Managing Director at Vierling. "At CeBIT 2006, we will be a co-exhibitor at the Siemens booth. In East Asia, we are currently cooperating on a large project. In the United States, we are working together to complete the approval process for cellular network operators. We also have a sales partnership in Austria."
