Press Release Summary = The latest video training product, DTP Master, shows exactly how to desktop publish in simple and easy to understand language.
Press Release Body = Kent, England, February 13th, 2006 -- Video maker Shaun Pearce today unveiled his latest video training product, DTP MasterT, which lifts the lid on desktop publishing, layout design, and typography. This new product shows exactly how to desktop publish in simple and easy to understand language. It contains sixty nine (69) interactive videos covering twenty (20) topics - that\'s over three and a half (3.5) hours of easy to follow tuition.
The videos in DTP Master are in convenient Flash format, are available over the Internet and on CD-ROM. Desktop publishing software, and all materials used in the videos are included in the package, enabling the student to work alongside Shaun and duplicate what is being done in the tutorial before embarking on their own projects, or using other types of software.
The idea for the project began when Shaun first started working freelance in the film industry in the early 1990s. Shaun says: \"Like most freelance technicians, I used to send out my resume and cover letter to production companies to try and get work, but I just wasn\'t making any impact I came up with the idea for an A5 sized booklet with a flowchart on the front, credits and information about previous productions on the inside, and contact details on the back.\"
That started Shaun on the route to desktop publishing. But, it wasn\'t easy. After years of searching for a good how-to manual, Shaun ended up learning how to desktop publish on his own.
\"I figured there must be a lot of other people who found desktop publishing difficult,\" says Shaun \"so I used my video making skills to put together an easy to follow video tutorial series, and made it available via the Internet for easy access.\"
DTP Master follows the same principles as Shaun\'s other video training package: Photoshop Master. Rather than adopt a structured, lesson-based approach, the videos are arranged so students can work at their own pace and explore the elements of desktop publishing they want to know about. \"Those who are new to DTP can use it as a step-by-step course, while those with more experience can treat it as a reference tool\" says Shaun. \"I\'ve tried to concentrate on the sort of things people would use DTP for most often in their home, school, business, club or organisation. The software that comes with the package is more than adequate for most applications, and people who want to learn about more sophisticated DTP software will find it much easier after they\'ve mastered the basic principles here.\"
All the videos are fully interactive and can be stopped, started, and accessed in a non-linear fashion. A companion eBook clarifies some of the more confusing technical aspects of desktop publishing - with sections devoted to technical terms, paper types and sizes and printing methods.
DTP Master Key Features: The videos are grouped into three sections for ease of use.
Section One covers the basics and details the differences between word processing and desktop publishing, colour systems, understanding layers and sources of ideas.
Section Two covers the software included with the package, and gives full instructions, including videos on how every tool works.
Section Three contains more advanced tuition and enables the student to follow a complete project from start to finish. Topics covered include: * Designing business cards * Creating forms * Newsletter layout * Making your own greetings cards. * Product package design. * How to layout a glossy magazine. * Ane more!
