Press Release Body = This is an annual event and the largest fundraiser of the year for the area's Meals On Wheels Program. Outdoor lighting company, NiteLites of Sarasota will sponsor $2000.00 towards a lighting system that will be auctioned off in a silent auction during the event on Saturday, April 22nd, 2006 at 6:30p.m. The local Sarasota Meals On Wheels is part of the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) which is the oldest and largest organization in the United States representing those who provide meal services to people in need. According to the Turner Tree and Landscape website, "MOWAA works toward the social, physical, nutritional, and economic betterment of vulnerable Americans. The guiding principle to which it subscribes is to help those men and women who are elderly, homebound, disabled, frail, or at risk." The Whites and their family are active in the Sarasota / Bradenton community area. Ms. White explains, "We love to give to worthy local charities and we feel fortunate to be able to participate in fundraising events like 'Tropical Nights' for Meals on Wheels."
