New Delhi, June 17 2006: The Mariners Welfare Society (MWS), a Delhi based real estate company specializing in housing projects dedicated to the seafaring community has announced the launch of its second project, christened Mariners Ville. The 100 acre stand alone colony, with designer independent villas will come up in Gurgaon, the town that acts as an ambassador of India's growing global status today. The membership drive for the society-only for the Marine community professionals-- has already begun receiving excellent response.
According to HS Anand, Director (MWS ) , "Mariner's Welfare Society Plans to build a premium 450-villa township in Gurgaon .The Company is in the Process of acquiring 100 acres for the project, to be called Mariner's Ville and plans to invest in excess of Rs 180 crore.The company plans to have a built-up area of 300 square yard in the Ville". The focus of the project is on the spaciousness and comfort of the farmhouse living with a special emphasize on security and convenience of a condominium. Third phase of enrollment for the society is on. The plots would have the added advantage of being free hold and thus transferable in the name of the member.Infact the company is also eyeing similar projects around Chandigarh, Lucknow and a location on the outskirts of Mumbai.
The MWS, floated in 2002, germinated from an idea of HS Anand, Director MWS, to create an institution that caters to quality housing solutions for the seafaring professionals. It was also his attempt to give back something to the profession which had provided him with a career and station in life. Anand, an ex-Mariner with about two decades in Merchant Navy states "Being a Mariner I understand the difficulty faced by a mariner while settling themselves after retirement. I felt the need to start a company which minimizes the hurdles of the mariners in affording their own house. And have the security and comfort of like minded neighbors. The Mariner's Home, Gurgaon at Sector-56, was the first project of MWS.
