of CHARLESTON MARKETING, a full service marketing company, has accepted to serve
with the Governing Board of Directors for Trident Education and Business Alliance
(TEBA), led by Hanahan Mayor, Minnie Blackwell. TEBA brings educators from local
colleges, universities, and public schools together with Business leaders to improve
students\' readiness to enter the workforce.
The vision and mission statement of the Trident Education and Business Alliance is:
In the Trident region, educational systems partner with business and the community
to understand workforce needs and prepare all learners to be successful in the
workplace with strong academic, technological and interpersonal skills. As a result,
the Trident region is internationally competitive due to the quality of its
workforce.
To achieve this vision, the Trident Education and Business Alliance provides
leadership, coordination, resources and services to the partners to implement and
share effective strategies for achieving and sustaining systemic change. The
Partnership depends on:
--Employers to identify and communicate workforce needs and to assist with
curriculum development, career information, and the provision of work-based learning
opportunities for both students and teachers;
--School districts, colleges, community organizations and other educational
providers to implement systemic change that provides lifelong learning opportunities
and enables all learners to acquire strong academic, technological and interpersonal
skills and to make a successful transition to the workforce;
--Parents to understand and support higher learning standards and the participation
of their children in the career development process and work-based learning
opportunities; and
--Learners to value and actively participate in the career development and
work-based learning opportunities made available to them by educational providers
and employers.
This Vision and Mission statement was developed by the Trident Education and
Business Alliance, a Tech Prep/School-to-Work regional partnership serving Berkeley,
Charleston, and Dorchester counties using Federal STW grant funds.
