Press Release Body = July 17th 2006 - Remember the good old days? The days of Double Dragon, Golden Axe, and yes, even Battletoads? Rage of Magic (www.rageofmagic.com) does, and if Mario can get his first side scroller since 1992, perhaps it is time to resurrect one of the most classic styles of games. Enter Rage of Magic II and the world will once again know skull crushing, butt-kicking, ask-questions-later style mayhem. It's now available for Mac, Windows and Linux.
Unlike many of the predecessors to Rage of Magic II, part of the charm is the ongoing story and cinematic cut-scenes. A strange and twisted plot, filled to the brim with betrayal and backstabs is only matched by the brutal onslaught of sword swinging insanity that goes on inside the game. Rage of Magic features 35 levels of one player story mode, and two player modes including 100 levels of arena and a versus mode.
What would a game like this be without supers? Rage of Magic II features an action-packed super and combo attack system that will take skill to master. Blocking can be done automatically but it takes timing and reflexes to counter attack. While attacking there are plenty of combos to perform, each with strengths and weaknesses. Combo attacks, super combo attacks, resistant attacks, counter attacks, and super counter attacks are just some of the many skills a fighter draws on.
There are also levels to gain, food and potions to pick up, and plenty of enemies to slice into small bite sized morsels. Rediscover a genre gaming has all but forgotten. Rage of Magic II is now available with a free downloadable demo from www.rageofmagic.com and online exclusively at www.gamebrew.com.
