"IMAGING WITH MOBILE DEVICES" SEMINAR TACKLES MOBILE IMAGING COMPATIBILITY ISSUES AT PHOTOKINA 2006
Panel Features Digital Imaging Experts Eran Steinberg, Elmo Sapwater, & John Henshall
August 2, 2006, Cologne, Germany - The Panel, "A Call to Simplify Image Capture/Print Workflow" will be presented at this year's Photokina in Cologne, Germany, as part of the "Imaging with Mobile Devices" full day seminar. The panel features three digital imaging experts: Eran Steinberg, CEO of FotoNation; Elmo Sapwater, Columnist and Moderator; and John Henshall, Columnist, Columnist www.ChipShopOnline.com and "The Photographer" magazine (UK), who will discuss ways to effectively simplify and standardize mobile devices for ease of use in imaging. The trio will debate intelligent workflow solutions that will remove obstacles, making image printing as easy as making a phone call. Almost 50% of People are Using Cellphones as a Camera
"We're approaching the fact that almost 50% of people are already using camera phones as either their main capture devices or as a supplement to their digital cameras. But amazingly, there is still no easy way to capture and print photos," said panel Moderator, Elmo Sapwater. "However, with an effective design and smart user interface, mobile devices can be finally universally standardized for successful and simple imaging." The "A Call to Simplify Image Capture/Print Workflow" Panel will be held during Photokina on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 4:30 PM, in the Kolnmesse, Cologne, Germany. The panel is part of a full day seminar on imaging, sponsored by Photofinishing News, IMI Europe, Koelmnesse and Prophoto. CIPA (Japanese Camera and Imaging Products Association), camera manufacturers (such as Canon and Kodak), and Microsoft have all adopted FotoNation's wireless connectivity standard, PTP/IP (Picture transfer Protocol over Internet Protocol Networks). Steinberg is the author of several granted patents in the field of digital photography and is the project leader of the ISO Committee for Command Language for Cameras (ISO-15740/Picture Transfer Protocol).
