O3SIS SyncML (OMA DS) data synchronization and Backup and Restore products are key
components of the company's Unified Mobile Applications (UMA) platform, which
provides Over-the-Air data synchronization, a full-featured address book, mobile
device backup/restore, and mobile personal information management (PIM)

The O2 (Germany)/O3SIS deployment additionally allows users to manage and maintain
their personal calendar online to schedule appointments, anniversaries, birthday
notifications, and other important data, which will automatically push to their
phone and desktop providing instant reminders as events arise. The new solution
also utilizes the user's PC and their existing PIM such as Outlook, Outlook Express,
or Lotus Notes to sync data between their handset, the Web, and their PC.

Over-the-air Backup and Restore service safeguards user data such as addresses,
appointments and e-mails on the phone in case it is lost or stolen. Users can now
restore all of their data and content to their new phone seamlessly and
transparently, while also enabling O2 (Germany) to retain a consistent usage/revenue
