Scot McKay, a dating coach and founder of aptly named X & Y Communications (http://www.deservewhatyouwant.com) has released a new book entitled "Cook For Your Date". The work is a follow-up to "Deserve What You Want", his first full-length publication.
McKay has become well known for his philosophy that singles must learn to deserve what they want from the partner of their dreams, lest they end up settling for less. Such "settling" invariably leads to unhealthy relationships as time passes. McKay believes, however, that one of life's most fulfilling scenarios occurs when couples enter a relationship with both the man and the woman respectively believing they have found the most amazing partner possible.
To that end, McKay's new book focuses on how to create a "perfect romantic evening at home". "Cook For Your Date" is billed as a "complete toolkit" for creating such an evening. The author is convinced that sharing such events is a hallmark of great partners who "deserve each other" in the best way possible.
"There are many dating books out there and an overwhelming number of cookbooks", McKay explains. "Yet, I have never been able to find a book that effectively combines dating tips with specially selected recipes designed to make a romantic dinner for two happen at home."
McKay asserts that cooking for one's significant other is one of the most powerful ways to build a relationship. "Both men and women are generally thrilled when someone cooks for them. Doing so is an effective way to get to know one another, and eating together has long been understood to create emotional bonds between people. There really isn't a better way to spend an evening, and certainly no better way to supercharge attraction."
Importantly, the author also believes that finely tuned culinary skills aren't prerequisite to success. "Even if you can't boil water you can cook for a date. The recipes we've selected for this book focus on ease of preparation combined with great taste and impressive presentation. It really can all come together when the right recipes are involved."
McKay's book covers all aspects of making such an event flow with perfection. The discussion begins with why cooking for your date is such a powerful concept, moves into how an invitation to dinner is best extended, follows with a guide to planning the menu and one's living space, offers specifics on meal preparation and culminates with a detailed step-by-step recommendation on how to host one's guest. As you expect, McKay even has a "silver bullet" or two for his readers on how to keep things interesting after dinner.and those ideas are among the most surprising in the entire book.
More information on "Cook For Your Date" can be found at http://www.romantic-dinner.com. McKay is already at work on his next book, which will be titled "How To Manage Your Wildly Successful Dating Life". This promises to be yet another one-of-a-kind offering from the truly unique perspective of Scot McKay.
