Press Release Summary = MURDERERS AND TERRORISTS ENTER U.S. ILLEGALLY
Is our national security at risk? Yes, say 82 percent of Americans who believe that the U.S. is not doing enough to keep illegals from entering this country, according to a recent Time magazine poll.
In Milleville, New Jersey, 5 illegal immigrants were recently arrested for raping a 13-year-old girl. Between 2003 and 2005, the notorious Central American MS-13 gang committed 6 homicides and attempted 4 more in suburban Maryland. In addition, at least 3 of the September 11th hijackers were in the U.S. illegally.
Increased rates of crimes committed by illegal immigrants have fueled a national debate about their growing population. The number of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. has mushroomed to an estimated 10.5 million in January 2005 compared to only 8.5 million in January 2000, according to an August 2006 report by the Department of Homeland Security.
Tom DeMola, author of the new book Exit 55: Your On-Ramp to Terror, takes an imaginary look into a not-too-distant future where terrorism has risen to a whole new level. Juan Olivarez has come to America to snare a piece of the dream by clipping the hedges and mowing the lawns of the suburban elite. Ahmad Iqbal, a successful local businessman, has a different American dream-one that involves exploiting the unrest of Long Island's discriminated-against day laborers for his own use.
"I wanted to show the clash between affluent suburban homeowners and the struggling immigrants who serve them," Tom says."
In Long Island, where Tom lives with his family, the controversy over the flood of Mexican day laborers into their suburban community has made headlines. "You see the desperation of these people who came to this country to make better lives for themselves and their families," he says, "and how they are extremely vulnerable to exploitation."
Tom is the founder of Cascade Technical Solutions, Inc. In 2003, their Website was "hijacked" by Muslim extremists who erased all company files and replaced them with anti-American messages. Homeland Security agents determined that the extremists wanted to begin an "electronic Jihad" against Western businesses to destroy the American economy.
"If America doesn't take heed, there is a real potential for violence that well far exceed what we saw on 9/11," says Tom.
