Press Release Body = The 3-Minute Teacher-Differentiating English Language Assessment and Instruction
Text N Tone Inc. announces The 3- Minute Teacher English Language Student Assessment and Instruction Program, to help elementary, middle, and high school teachers quickly identify the weakness of each student's English Language Development skills.
No two children are alike. An enriched environment for one is not necessarily enriched for another. No two children learn in the identical way. \"Three principles from brain research: emotional safety, appropriate challenges, and self constructed meaning suggest that a one-size-fits-all approach to English Language Development instruction teaching is ineffective for most students and harmful to some.\" Source: Marian Diamond, Professor of Neuroanatomy at Berkeley

The 3-Minute Teacher offers a solution to schools
In the fourth grade, students experience what has been described rather poignantly as "the fourth grade slump."
The decoding skills developed in grades one-to-three-i.e., recognizing and sounding out words-which have helped them to learn to read are insufficient to help them read to learn.
The fourth graders are now being handed texts laden with new vocabularies and more complex content in science, social studies, English literature, and mathematics. The reality of the situation, however, is that middle and high school subject teachers generally do not see the teaching of reading as their responsibility, nor are they trained to do so
Reading experts would point out that the decline in science and math achievement closely parallels a similar decline in reading achievement, which is the fundamental prerequisite to all academic achievement. How to get the job done
TNT's student's assessment tests are 3 minutes each. One test for phoneme and grapheme awareness, three tests for morpheme blending and decoding skills, three tests for word analysis, vocabulary and writing skills. Additionally, the 3-Minute Teacher program has two English Linguistics Diagnostic Reading Skills Test Books.
Individual Student Learning Plans
Individual mini-lessons for the 3-Minute Teacher program generally take five to ten minutes for students to complete. Students then spend time reviewing lesson concepts with their tutors, before moving on to the next mini-lesson. TNT uses explicit instruction with an audio system called SONO. Explicit instruction is a series of required instructional steps or procedures designed to guarantee that students understand explicitly what is expected of them and what is being taught. Teachers speak with students before each mini-lesson about the lesson's objectives. The SONO system delivers the majority of instruction to students and consists of a headphone and microphone set as well as an audio player capable of voice replay and recording for students with special needs.
