Press Release Summary = The film Chath is inspired by true stories of homeless people in America. It delves into the dynamics of the relationships between 3 homeless Indians in USA. These homeless beings are hungry not only fpr bread but for love, naked not only for lack of clothing but naked for human dignity and respect, homeless not only for want of a room of bricks - but homeless because of rejection. They come from entirely different backgrounds but share the same conditions. The different personalities clash and this raises pertinent questions about life and existence, and about dealing with life\'s failures. We have tried to imbibe the realistic side of the homeless into the dramatic side of \"Chath\" by exploring actual conditions in shelter homes with respect to food, shelter and hygiene. The fact that homelessness is more of an emotional and mental phenomena rather than an economic condition has been duly represented in the form of a very captivating and dramatic screenplay.

Synopsis
When Bob and Rex both homeless and originally from India meet each other, the experience is far from pleasant.
Bob is the bully and Rex gets pushed around. They ultimately find a common ground to co-exist. Food and shelter are
their only goals in life and they remain distant from ambitions and desires. Things start to change when they meet Sahana,
a homeless Indian girl. Her views attract Bob\'s senses. He slowly starts questioning the very existence of his self and wants
to face the truth and change. Rex is content with the present. Sahana\'s presence slowly creates a rift in their friendship.
Emotions heighten to huge proportions resulting in a nerve-wrecking climax. Do they survive the ordeal?
Is Sahana able to eradicate the homeless mindset of Bob and Rex ? Is Rex able to stop Bob?
\"We think sometimes that being homeless is only about being hungry, naked and poor. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest feeling of homelessness.\" Mother Theresa.

HOMELESS PROBLEM REACHES THE HOSPITALS
Says a registered nurse in Bellevue Hospital\'s emergency room, \"daily all year we care for the homeless, who come here rather than going to city shelters.
Once here, they must be bathed and rid of lice, maggots and excrement, examined by a physician and, if necessary, a psychiatrist.
Some are very ill and need immediate admission, but most come for a bath, a meal and a change of clothes. This takes away nurses in one of the city\'s busiest emergency rooms from other, very ill patients, who need more intensive nursing care - patients having heart attacks, multiple trauma, etc.
National Resource Center on Homelessness and Mental Illness, 2006 Research Results:
About 800,000 people are homeless on any given hight in USA.
There are 200,000 people with severe mental illness living in the streets or shelter homes
