Dr. Eugene G. Sherman, Jr. was born in Whigham, Georgia in 1932. He has earned the
A.B., M.A., Ph.D., D.S.T., D.R.S. Degrees along with the honorary Doctor of Divinity
and Doctor of Humanities and Letters. His professional experiences have included 40
years of University teaching in sociology, history, philosophy, gerontology, and
thanatology. He was awarded the title of Emeritus Professor of Sociology (2002) by
Albany State University, Albany, Georgia. Dr. Sherman currently resides in Albany,
GA with his wife, Dr. Dolores E. Sherman (retired). They have no children.
