Press Release Body = March 07, 2007: Local entertainer/singer/songwriter Rusty Wilson, a 1994 graduate of Simpson High School, current resident of Vernon Parish and Fort Polk Employee, has been nominated by the International Academy of Independent Artists (IAIA) for their annual Golden Kayak Awards to be presented later this month. The kayak represents the indie artist, who by sheer determination takes his or her own music to the world via the internet without the help of large publicity machines or substantial FM radio play. In order to select the winners, an organization of artists was formed so the top indie songs and artists could be chosen by their peers. This organization is the IAIA. The annual event is the biggest sponsored by the Independent Artist Community (IAC). More information can be obtained by visiting the community\'s website at http://www.iacmusic.com/. You can find out more about Rusty Wilson at his official website http://www.rustywilson.org or at http://www.myspace.com/rustywilsonmusic.
