This joint program with big boys like Microsoft and HP is a good start. Microsoft and Creative Labs have been business partners long time ago when Windows 3.1 and soundblaster first started. This makes me understand why when Steve Jobs approached Creative Labs to ask them to produce a slimmer MP3 player for Apple, now known as iPod. Creative rejected, partly because Creative wanted its own line of MP3 players, they are very confident that time that they have the upper hand on this new emerging MP3 market. Also Microsoft and Apple have been long time business competitors, a partnership could not happen that time.
Any way, now Creative also become ipod friends by switching to ipod accessory maker after losing out to Apple iPod and Microsoft also launched its Zune MP3 players, directly competing with Creative Labs when Creative failed to win the MP3 market share. This is the realistic business world. Well, Creative is not about soundblaster, webcam or MP3 players only. Their venture into telecommunication service provider business with wireless technology such as WIMAX may be the answer to the next WIFI or WIMAX capable Creative Zen Vision players!
