Press Release Body = SAN DIEGO, CA. April 26, 2007 - - - GPS International Technologies Inc. (GPSit) a leading provider of location-based security solutions and tracking devices, announces their winning of the 2007 Innovation Award at the First Annual New York Law Enforcement Expo, held April 4-5 in New York City.
The Expo featured thousands of products and services intended for use by law enforcement personnel and was attended by more than 900 professionals from 612 different departments and agencies from New York and 19 other states.
The Innovation Award was presented to GPSit in recognition of the company's FS1, a small, rugged, wireless device intended for covert law enforcement operations and part of the company's Find & See family of security products.
"We are extremely honored to receive the 2007 Innovation Award," said Kyle Colwell, national sales manager with GPSit. "With such a diversity of product offerings and so many tactical leaders, police forces, SWAT and other law enforcement professionals, to be recognized in this manner is confirmation that our products perform as promised."
Each attendee was given a ballot, thus the Innovation Award was the result of peer recognition, said Kelly Simon Productions company officials.
The FS1 is a wireless pinpoint-tracking device that can be discretely attached under a vehicle, carried on a person or placed within a container or pallet of goods. Using assisted GPS (A-GPS) and code division multiple access (CDMA) technologies, the FS1 tracking device provides precise locational fixes by way of a timed synchronized system. It also offers over-the-air device management through a series of functionality alerts and 10, 20 or 60 day battery life.
"The FS1 is easy to use, easily hidden and can work indoors", said Colwell. " Now, law enforcement team members can remain out of sight during high risk surveillance operations."
