Industry = Electronics

Press Release Summary = RFID has been constantly making its presence felt in various
industries for the past several years, and the technology is set to expand its reach
in more industries in the years to come.

Press Release Body = "RFID will make our lives faster, more reliable and safer",
told Mr Chatzimarkakis to CORDIS News on February 2, 2007. "The technology is
already being used in a lot of circumstances and in a lot of applications, be it in
public transport or for access to buildings." RFID has various applications ranging
from error prevention & data capture to providing safety from general hazards and
ensuring security from terrorist attacks. However, RFID has yet so much of unused
potential.

Latest trends and estimates give a clear indication of the market to grow at a rapid
pace in the next decade. IATA' RFID Manager, Andrew Price enthused, \"In the next few
years the air industry will be tagging an ever higher proportion of its 2 billion
bags annually and it will use RFID in other new applications as well.\" Enterprise
Networks & Servers published this statement in January this year.

\"Government applications of RFID are now growing rapidly. We started five RFID
projects in the government area this year and there are more to come next year\",
said Jimmy Li, who is the deputy director for Govt. RFID Applications' Initiative
Office at Economic Affairs' Ministry of Taiwan and senior advisor for Taiwan's
Information Industry Institute.

RFID has a competitive advantage in various ways and in a number of locations that
go much beyond baggage's tagging. The biggest rollout is National ID card system in
China, however UK has planned even a larger budget of US$ 15 Billion for its
National ID card scheme.

As per the RNCOS report "RFID: Outlook China", Low and high frequency RFID
applications are relatively mature in Chinese market. It's expected that year 2008
will see massive growth in ultra high frequency RFID applications, specifically in
SCM (Supply Chain Management). Well-developed standards & technology will support
this growth. Higher automation and minimized cost are the two main driving forces of
RFID in SCM.

This research report on "RFID: Outlook China" addresses some interesting issues for
today's global business environment such as global RFID scenario and the position of
China with respect to the global market, future prospects of RFID industry in China,
applications and opportunities associated with RFID, Chinese government policies
towards RFID such as Standard development, frequency allocation and their impact on
RFID development in China.
