GEI is awarded three prizes in Ophthalmic Photography
Press Release Body = Chandigarh, Chandigarh, India, Thursday, May 2, 2007 (InfoMailers.com):: Grewal Eye Institute (GEI), the premier comprehensive Eye Care Institute based at Chandigarh, has participated in the scientific deliberations of the 5-day Annual Conference 2007 of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) held at San Diego from 28th April to 2nd May 2007. Dr SPS Grewal, CEO of GEI presented Original Research Work in all three categories of Scientific Presentation - Video, Poster and Paper. GEI was awarded the distinction of winning two 3rd Prizes as well as one \'Honorable Mention\' in the prestigious Ophthalmic Photography Competition at the Conference.
Dr. SPS Grewal, presented \"Anterior Segment Pathologies Captured on Scheimpflug Video\" as a Video Presentation in the ASCRS Film Festival while the Research Paper presented during the paper session was \"Quantitative Evaluation of Changes in Anterior Segment Biometry After Peripheral Laser Iridotomy Using Pentacam Scheimpflug System in Eyes with Primary Angle Closure\". The glaucoma clinic of GEI had an exciting poster presentation \"Using Artificial Intelligence to Detect Glaucoma\". The efforts made by GEI to present quality research work were highly appreciated by the faculty and the delegates in USA.
GEI won the 3rd Prize in the Ophthalmic Photography Competition in both the sections \'Gonio Photography\' and \'The Eye as Art\' and also bagged one \'Honorable Mention\' in \'The Eye as Art\' section. These prizes were awarded to the best photographs submitted by Ophthalmologists and Ophthalmic Photographers from over 60 countries to the Ophthalmic Photographers\' Society (OPS) during the ASCRS Annual Scientific Symposium.

The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) is an independent non-profit organization founded in August of 1974 to disseminate information about anterior segment ophthalmic surgery. Since 1974, ASCRS has seen anterior segment surgery develop into a highly sophisticated form of ophthalmic treatment.
