Press Release Summary = The rate at which house prices are inflating year-on-year is
falling, it has been revealed.

Press Release Body = A survey by Communities and Local Government (CLG) found annual
house price inflation in March to be 10.9 per cent, down from February\'s equivalent
figure of 11.8 per cent.

\"England, Scotland and Wales saw decreases in inflation in March 2007,\" the
Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) report stated.

\"The inflation rate in England fell from 10.7 per cent in February to 9.8 per cent
in March; the inflation rate in Scotland fell from 16.6 per cent to 14.8 per cent;
in Wales the rate fell from 10.7 per cent to 9.7 per cent.

\"Northern Ireland was the only home country where the inflation rate rose, from 48.5
per cent to 50.1 per cent.\"

Recent rises in interest rates have acted to cool demand in recent months, and many
analysts have predicted further hikes in the near future.
