"We needed a NAC solution, but after months of reading and researching I learned that most solutions are too difficult to implement, require too many resources and cost more than I could afford," said John Kupchaunis, Director of Information Technology for the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development. After plugging the Mirage NAC device into the network, it immediately found numerous policy violations. This included rogue Web servers, unauthorized access points, and unknown devices," continued Kupchaunis. "For the next few weeks, we remedied the policy violations and let the Mirage device learn our network. We then put the device into compliance mode. Now any time a rogue device is plugged in, the administrator is immediately notified and the device is segregated to a restricted Web server.
