Press Release Body: (RICHMOND HILL, GA, SEPTEMBER 17, 2007) - September 23th-29th is National Employ Older Workers Week and it's a perfect time for seniors who are in need of extra income to consider getting the training they need to get a job.
In Georgia, Experience Works, the country's largest provider of mature-worker training and employment, is currently recruiting individuals 55 and older, with limited income, who want to learn news skills, gain job experience, and ultimately work full- or part-time in their local communities. Through the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), Experience Works collaborates with nonprofit organizations and community-service agencies to provide paid work experience, training, and job-placement services to seniors in local communities.
"People are never too old to learn new skills and continue contributing to society," said Billy Wooten, Experience Works Regional Director. "Experience Works has examples of hundreds of seniors who have started new careers in their 60's, 70's and even 80's."
National Employ the Older Worker Week, September 23th-29th, promotes employment opportunities and acknowledges the special contributions of older Americans nationwide. The week is also an opportunity to recognize the employers of older workers who establish age-friendly work environments by training, recruiting, and retaining qualified older workers.
