Diseases From Birds are a Danger Now

Released on: October 30, 2007, 11:24 am

Press Release Author: Bird-X, Inc.

Industry: Industrial

Press Release Summary: Don\'t be fooled into thinking that the Avian Flu is the only
fatal illness that can jump from birds to humans. Birds transmit over 60
diseases/parasites to humans now and thats just the beginning of the dangers that
bird infestations pose.

Press Release Body: While birds and associated diseases are hot news right now, it's
old news to us at Bird-X, Inc. People worry and wonder about bird flu jumping
species --- but in fact there are already over 60 different human diseases
associated with birds and their droppings, some of which can be fatal.

Pest birds and their droppings cause unsafe and unhealthy conditions and require
costly cleanup and repair. Droppings on pallets of food or pharmaceuticals are
unacceptable. In fact OSHA and other agencies have the power to cite, fine, and
possibly shut down companies for bird mess problems. Slip-and-fall accidents on
bird droppings or Canada goose droppings can prompt lawsuits. Messy, dropping-laden
shopping centers and office buildings cause bad press, plus these ugly premises
offend employees and potential customers. Millions of unnecessary man-hours are
expended cleaning the droppings and repairing the damage to structures and hard
goods - our GNP could increase if these hours were spent on more productive
activities.

Chicago-based Bird-X, Inc. has been in business since 1964 as the bird control
experts, providing innovative products and consulting services to industrial,
commercial, municipal and residential customers for 41 years. Our ecologically
sound, environmentally safe solutions do not harm birds. Our experts would be happy
to comment on birds, their mess, diseases, how to repel them without harm, or any
related topic. We stand ready to be a resource for you.
