Press Release Summary: Superior TV-Out Quality Serves Vibrant Video iPod Aftermarket
Press Release Body: CAMPBELL, Calif. - October 17, 2007 -- Focus Enhancements Inc (NASDAQ: FCSE), a worldwide leader in Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, video conversion and digital media, announced that Chanceux Co., a leader in the development of media-oriented consumer electronics products in Taiwan, has selected Focus Enhancements' FS453 TV-out encoder chip for its new remote controlled iPod docking station.
Chanceux designed the VID-1200 SmartDock iPod docking station to enable iPod users to enjoy maximum value from the growing amount of multimedia content stored on their players - including the ability to output video and audio files to existing televisions. The remote controlled docking station allows users to browse and play content on their home TV or other portable television displays without compromising image quality. The docking station also acts as a charger.
"The iPod aftermarket is a very active market and now that video is an important part of the available content, TV-out is a natural and desirable extension," said David Huang, Taiwan country manger for Focus Enhancements' semiconductor group. "Our TV-out functionality on Chanceux's VID-1200 gives their customers the added value and versatility of portable high-resolution media."
"We selected Focus Enhancements' FS453 TV-out chip because of its superior performance and high video quality," said Mr. Jim Wang, CEO of Chanceux. "With Focus Enhancements' leading TV-out technology, our customers can display the user interface, photos and video content of their iPod on their living room TV to enjoy an enriched and engaging big-screen experience."
Along with Focus Enhancements' FS453 TV-out encoder, the newly-launched VID-1200 SmartDock docking station features the Freescale MXL processor and infrared remote controller.
