The Poole-based firm, which specialises in VMWare, was asked to help the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew reduce its IT Hardware and resultant energy consumption.
James D. Stallard, the Chief Technical Architect at Kew, said: "The IT Department tries wherever possible to minimise the environmental impact of its work, and we're getting better all the time.
"Codestone has provided us with software that will reduce some of our IT-related carbon emissions by around three quarters, reducing our support burden, improving ease of Management and bringing considerable cost savings.\"

VMWare Virtual Infrastructure 3 uses Virtual Server Technology to radically reduce the number of physical servers, bringing reductions in power consumption, storage space and air conditioning to cool them, which in turn leads to upwards of 75% reduction in carbon emissions for each server virtualised.
