Press Release Summary: PoV web camera lets users capture images and videos from any angle and instantly share them through IM applications and Skype
Press Release Body: Las Vegas, Nevada, January 9, 2008 - IPEVO, a leading manufacturer of experience-driven Internet devices, unveiled its PoV web camera, a unique point-and-shoot camera that lets users share their Point of View during Instant Messaging, chat sessions, and other Internet communication applications. Unlike conventional web cameras designed to focus on the user's head, PoV is a detachable viewing tool that offers the freedom to capture images and video from any angle and vantage point.
PoV is compatible with most major Instant Messaging applications, including Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Web Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger. In addition, the webcam includes Skype software - enabling users to instantly send snapshots to any of their Skype contacts with a single click. An integrated microphone captures sound for video conferencing.
With its pen-like form factor, PoV encourages picking up and pointing. When not held, the camera naturally rests on a base that stands on a tabletop or can be clamped to a laptop or monitor. A well-designed holder clip allows PoV to be attached or detached with a simple drop/pull motion. Following in the tradition of IPEVO's iconic line of award-winning hardware designs, PoV was honored with a 2007 Good Design Award from the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO).
"The Internet is all about sharing," said Ed Lucero, VP & general manager of IPEVO North America. "And PoV makes it easier to share the world around you with friends, family, and colleagues over the web. Just point at any object and you can instantly demonstrate the latest prototype to a colleague overseas, show off your newly remodeled living room, or let grandma see your son's early steps."
Key PoV specifications include: . USB 1.1/USB 2.0 compatible . Supports Windows XP and Vista . Sensor: CMOS . Sensor resolution: VGA (640 x 480 pixels) . Focus: 4 cm no limit . Maximum frame rate: 30 fps . Color depth: 24 bit . Adjustable manual focus, multiple digital zoom, automatic white balance, gamma correction
