winners for MUSIC (Magma Users Summit on Integrated Circuits) India, held in
Bangalore Jan. 22-23.



The top paper award went to B.G. Madhusudan Rao of Texas Instruments for his paper
entitled "Planning and Closure for Large Capacity Designs: Talus® ACC." The second
place award went to Raashid Shaikh of Texas Instruments for his paper entitled "A
65-nm 850K PI Hard Macro Implementations\' Trials and Travails: Blast Fusion® 5.0
Missing Pieces and Talus Difference." Third place went to Vivek Tatke of Open
Silicon for "Practical Techniques to Improve Productivity through the Lifecycle of
Rectilinear Dominated Hierarchical Flip Chip Designs."



The winning papers were selected by the more than 250 attendees and the MUSIC
Technical Coordination Program Committee (TCPC) from a field of 26 user papers
submitted from top-tier companies, including Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Intel,
Broadcom, Open Silicon, LSI, Mediatek Singapore, ARM and Infineon.

users," said Qualcomm's Venugopal Puvvada, a TCPC member and director of
engineering, Qualcomm Bangalore. "The presenters covered topics spanning the entire
range of the design flow using Magma tools. I commend the presenters and the
