Press Release Body: Hersonville, TN,Feb,13,2008 -- What started out as a humorous computer game ( www.PeltThePundits.com ) has become an accurate predictor of Democratic and Republican primary winners. Points are scored when players choose their party affiliation and then hurl tomatoes at the opposition.
Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Barack Obama and other presidential candidates are now prime targets to be pelted with tomatoes. The game was launched just before Super Tuesday and the results mirrored the popular vote across the board. If current trends hold through the Ohio and Texas primaries in March, Obama should be the presumptive Democratic nominee and not Hillary.
Pelt The Pundits creator Joe Butler says the negative hits on Hillary Clinton have been ramping up while over the past week the tomatoes have been creaming John McCain pretty hard. "I think people are reacting to all the conservative talk radio pundits and targeting McCain," says Butler. "Right now the Republicans are leading the Democrats in overall hits, but we are experiencing a surge in hits against the GOP. Limbaugh is the prime target for Democrats. Rush is getting pelted 3 to 1 over Hannity, Colmes, O'Reilly, and Rather, but that just shows the huge impact Limbaugh has on American politics and is probably why McCain is getting pelted by as many Republicans as Democrats."
Butler says the game is an equal opportunity offender. "Each pundit that pops up has a few notable comments. Like Hillary Clinton who says 'vote for me, I'm the only candidate with hot flashes', or Mike Huckabee saying 'I may not be an expert on foreign policy, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.'\"
In 2004 PeltThePundits.com correctly picked the winner of the Presidency and hopes to beat polling services such as Zogby, CNN, Fox, and Rasmussen in predicting the winner of the upcoming presidential election!
"You have at least a peck of tomatoes to pitch at the pundits," says Butler, "and it's a much cleaner way to take out your frustrations on political pundits
than throwing real tomatoes at your television while watching CNN or FOX News."
The time to play is ripe and so are the tomatoes! Check out the game at www.PeltThePundits.com .
