Press Release Summary: SECUDE has appointed Felipe Rodriguez as the CTO of its Data Protection business Unit. This move follows the restructuring of SECUDE's portfolio into the Data Protection and SAP Security divisions to better focus its Go-to-Market strategy.
Press Release Body: Lucerne, 16 February 2008 - SECUDE International AG has appointed Felipe A. Rodriguez, as the Chief Technology Officer of the Data Protection Division. Mr. Rodriguez had previously been one of the principle contributors to FinallySecure, SECUDE's hybrid hardware- or software-based Full Disk Encryption solution.
"Felipe has shown great leadership within SECUDE since the day he started," notes Tristan Kromer, VP & General Manager of the Data Protection Division, "His deep technical understanding of our solutions is complimented by a vision for the market and developing technologies. By appointing him as CTO of the Data Protection unit, we will have a more focused strategy to drive our solutions to the market and take our innovations to the next level."
SECUDE's Data Protection business unit is focused on End-to-End encryption solutions to create a complete security infrastructure from client login to enterprise server access. This includes Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA), Full Disk Encryption (FDE), Single Sign-On (SSO), eMail encryption, Token & Access Management, and central management, which connects the solutions together. This portfolio also complements and integrates with SECUDE's SAP Security Business Unit.
The recent separation of the two distinct portfolios into business units will allow SECUDE to more accurately convey its message to the market, and appointing a separate management structure follows this strategy.
"We aim to communicate a very clear and focused message to the market.", says Heiner Kromer, CEO of SECUDE, "By recognizing that our customers and partners are best served by separating the SAP driven products from the Data Protection products, we have advanced our ability to Go-to-Market and leapfrog the competition with our unique hardware- or software-based Full Disk Encryption solution - FinallySecure."
In his previous position at SECUDE, Mr. Rodgriuez was primarily responsible for the hybrid hardware- or software-based Full Disk Encryption solution FinallySecure 9.0 Enterprise and also oversaw the release of the single user version FinallySecure 1.0 Home which functions on hardware-based Full Disk Encryption solutions such as the Seagate Momentus FDE.2 hard disk drives.
"Working on these products in depth has presented many interesting challenges. Overcoming them has led us to develop powerful yet intuitive products which help customers protect their data", says Felipe Rodriguez.
Felipe Rodriguez joined SECUDE from SAIC Inc., where he was Embedded Linux Software Engineer. He has extensive expertise in Open-Source Operating Systems, is a contributor to various Linux projects and is the principal developer of the mGSTEP Open-Source project. Prior to SAIC, Mr. Rodriguez was Senior Software Engineer at NXTV Inc., Quest Software Inc., 360 Systems Inc., and Mediasonic Enterprieses Inc. Mr. Rodriguez studied Electrical Engineering (EE) at California State University, Northridge, California.
