Press Release Body: The first semi-final of the Edelweiss Challenge of the Indian Cricket League has been won by the Hyderabad Heroes. The margin was just a mere 4 runs and till the end, the result was under speculation as nothing was clear. It was close for the Superstars but in the end, the Hyderabad Heroes got the win in their home ground in Hyderabad itself.
The toss was won by the Hyderabad Heroes and they chose to bat first against the Chennai Superstars. It were openers Maher and Razzaq who opened strike for the Heroes but Maher went off dismissed by Vignesh on just two runs. Razzaq stayed on for a little while longer and made 14 runs before he was run out by Arnold. It can be said that at this stage, Rayadu and Boje came to the rescue of the team by making considerably good scores so that the team could get a good stand. Rayadu was dismissed by Syed on his score of 25 runs. Boje hung on till the seventeenth over and left on his score of 47. From the lower order, it was Binny who made 25 runs to add to the team score. The team landed up with a total of 147 runs.
The Superstars tried to give some good competition to the Heroes. But it was not the top order which did so but the lower order batsmen who tried their level best to get the match in their hands. Badani led the attack with his 50 runs and Sathish managed to pour in 25 more from his own bat. But at the end, it remained just a matter of four runs that the team lost the match. The final score that they could reach was 143 runs. Boje was awarded the Man of the Match for his valuable innings.
