Press Release Summary: Eurostar's new faster 300kmh service from the swish new St Pancras Station in central London to the heart of Paris zips passengers between the capitals via the 'Chunnel' in just 2¼ hours, making it faster, more convenient and 'greener' door to door than flying across the English Channel.
Press Release Body: Upgrade on Eurostar as part of new rail and flight package
An upgrade on Eurostar - the world's longest and most advanced train - is part of a discount rail and flight package offered by Australian online travel agent, Direct Flights International, to mark the addition of rail trips to the website for the first time.
Like in the 1987 comedy movie of the same name, Direct Flights can now offer 'planes, trains and automobiles' - as well as ships - around the world following a new partnership forged with Australian rail specialist, Rail Plus.
To celebrate the availability of rail trips on www.directflights.com.au, Direct Flights has a discount flight and Eurostar train deal available for travel until the end of the year.
Eurostar's new faster 300kmh service from the swish new St Pancras Station in central London to the heart of Paris zips passengers between the capitals via the 'Chunnel' in just 2¼ hours, making it faster, more convenient and 'greener' door to door than flying across the English Channel. And 92 per cent of services arrive on time or early, outperforming airlines on the busy route.
Eurostar's aerodynamically-designed trains carry 750 passengers - or more than the A380 superjumbo - with 20 cars stretching 394m. Eurostar carried a record 8.3 million passengers last year, and 10 million passengers forecast for 2010.
Direct Flights is offering return flights from Australia to Europe and an upgraded premium seat on Eurostar between London and Paris from $2697 per person. The package includes taxes and travel in Eurostar's Leisure Select Class which offers more spacious seats than Standard Class as well as a hot meal with drinks and a selection of magazines.
The return flights from Australia are to 52 cities in Europe, flying Austrian Airlines from their Asian hubs, paired with connecting flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth or Cairns with Thai Airways, Qantas, Air China, Malaysia Airlines or Singapore Airlines. From Adelaide, the package is priced from $3047.
The package is available for travel until December 31, 2008.
Bookings are available on www.directflights.com.au and there are NO online booking fees.
