NEW IBERIA, La. (June 30)- Superior Energy Services' Marine Services Division christened its new 175-ft class liftboat, the Superior Future, on Friday, June 27 at Marine Industrial Fabrication at 4912 Marina Rd., New Iberia, La.
Connie Babin, Superior's Marine Services Division traffic coordinator, performed the christening. Guests from the industry, media and local government had the opportunity to tour the vessel, and lunch was served onboard.
The Superior Future has modern features, technology and design unique to its class, including a 100-ton, 100-ft boom crane more commonly seen on larger vessels and a larger working deck and deckload. In addition, the vessel's accommodations were designed and built with maximum comfort and efficiency for customer representatives.
Superior owns and operates a fleet of 29 rental href="http://www.superiorenergy.com/products-and-services/marine/">liftboats ranging from 145 ft to 250 ft in leg length and capable of working in water depths of up to 180 ft. Two 265-ft liftboats will join Superior's fleet in late 2008 to early 2009.
