"As we looked for expansion opportunities we've focused our efforts on areas of the country that are committed and dedicated to dogs," said Linda Myers Drei, President of LMD Products. "Charlotte is one of those areas and we're certain that Frozen Woofys will be a huge success here."
"When I first heard about Frozen Woofys I was very excited that there was finally a healthy alternative to what's currently available in the grocery stores." said Paul Rowan, owner of Pet Essentials in Charlotte. "Now small pet stores can carry a frozen product for dogs and feel confident that it is good for their canine customers."
Frozen Woofys were first made available in the Central Pennsylvania region and sales have exceeded all expectations in just a few short months. "We believe our popularity is directly related to an overwhelming desire to make sure that the food we give our dogs is healthy, nutritious and safe," added Drei.
Linda and Mike Drei, owners of LMD Products, LLC, began developing their natural and organic treat for dogs following the dog food scare in 2007. They became very concerned for the safety of their own dogs and began giving them fresh fruit as a treat. When they combined the fresh fruit with the ice cubes their dogs loved, Frozen WoofysT was born. Frozen WoofysT are packaged in biodegradable/corn plastic containers. The corn plastic containers contain no petroleum products and all residual wasted bio-composts into the environment.

Frozen Woofys will be available in five different locations in the Charlotte region and there are plans to expand to at least 12 locations. The initial available flavors of Frozen WoofysT will be Barkin Berry and Banana Rama Ding Dog. More flavors will be added over time. Special holiday flavors will be available beginning in mid-November.
"Like most dog owners, we want to make sure our dogs are getting the best and healthiest products available," added Drei, "now, not only are we sure of that, we can now provide our product to other locations on the east coast."
Drei noted that LMD would also be launching a "Frozen Woofy Dogs of Charlotte" auditions this Fall. Winners will become the doggy face of Frozen Woofys in the region and be announced live at the official launch party. More details will become available soon.
