Press Release Body: London,UK, October 23, 2008 -- An upcoming business TV show speaks to YouTube stars and leading business experts to ask how they would advise the president to use YouTube to talk to the nation.
This year's US presidential campaign has seen YouTube come of age as a critical site for political debate and opinion shaping. Not a week has gone by during this year's US presidential campaign without a candidate's TV gaffe, campaign ad, or viral clip doing the rounds. It's hard to imagine, for example, that Katie Couric's CBS interview with Sarah Palin would have circulated as fully as it did without the endless links, re-edits, responses, and parodies that YouTube allows.
In a new business TV series , leading online business TV network yourBusinessChannel will examine the use of YouTube as a means for political persuasion. The series looks beyond the use of social media and other web 2.0 tools during the election campaign, to the potential longer term use of YouTube as a political communication tool.
Business experts in online marketing and persuasion will comment on each candidate's use of digital media, and explain how they would advise the incoming president to use YouTube as a communication tool, according to Mark Sinclair, Features Editor with the business TV channel.
"YouTube has become a powerful communication tool, so we want to hear from the business experts about how they think it can be best used to reach the masses. But we don't only want opinions from acknowledged business experts . We'll be asking the top 500 YouTube users for their advice too," says Sinclair. "One effect of the rise of social media is the democratisation of communication. So we want to hear what the best YouTube practitioners have to say, regardless of their credentials (or lack of) as business experts ."
The series will be promoted to over ten million businesspeople and business television viewers worldwide through yourBusinessChannel's syndication network.
YouTube stars and business experts interested in contributing to the business TV series can contact the yourBusinessChannel editorial team at editorial.f@ybc.tv for further informatio n.
