Press Release Summary = AVIALL SELECTS eCUSTOMS’ EXPORT COMPLIANCE SOLUTION TO ENSURE GLOBAL COMPLIANCE

Press Release Body = Buffalo, N.Y. Ensuring compliance with stringent global export laws at any company is a challenge in itself. But when it involves more than 200 salespeople spread around the world distributing literally hundreds of thousands of hi-tech items every day, the challenge can be especially daunting.

That’s why Aviall, Inc. – based in Fort Worth Dallas – has turned to eCustoms’ powerful, web-based export compliance solution, with its range of advanced, automated compliance resources. eCustoms has been a leader in delivering global trade management and compliance solutions to North American companies for more than 24 years.

Aviall, which distributes about 400,000 hi-tech catalogue items to the aviation and marine industries worldwide, has taken a proactive approach to export compliance over the years.

Previously, compliance was achieved by senior salespeople acting on relevant information received via multiple computer terminals across the company’s global network linked to appropriate U.S. Government websites. The organization’s Dallas headquarters also issued regular advisories and updates.

The company recently took the decision to increase the level of corporate security and accountability by implementing the eCustoms’ Enterprise Interface Module™ (EIM), which performs RPS screening automatically over the Internet, as directed by Aviall’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

“With the EIM system, the screening is still triggered at the order point wherever it occurs around the world,” said Waylan Conley, Aviall Services Government Compliance Administrator. “But now multiple, real-time screening is consolidated through Dallas where our mainframe server is located and where all orders run through. If there is a match, the order is put on hold so that further checks can be performed by us at a central point in the organization.”

Conley added: “Because of eCustoms’ screening abilities, our company has greatly reduced the risk of selling or shipping to any denied entity, and in turn, reduced the risk of any export violation or government seizure.”

“EIM™ provides a means for our suite of automated trade management solutions to interoperate across the different programming languages, platforms and operating systems currently used by a variety of clients,” said Marc Roy, Vice-President of Global Business and Solution Development at eCustoms. “The strength of EIM™ lies in its batch screening ability and the fact that it facilitates automatic real-time restricted party screening via an online conduit between any point in a client’s ERP system and eCustoms’ database servers.”
