DirectRooms.com announces that The Aberdeen Brown County Horse Races are being held in Aberdeen, South Dakota on 14th May and 15th May 2011. This year’s event is running a pari-mutuel wagering system.

The horse races are scheduled for Saturday and Sundays and begin at 1:30pm each day. The pari-mutuel races are held only in Aberdeen and Fort Pierre. The Bonus Challenge Races will also be held on 15th May.

The Brown County Fairgrounds have been hosting events since September 5th, 1921. This well-established and user-friendly environment consists of 160 acres that are located just north of Aberdeen in South Dakota. The grandstand currently seats 5,000 fans that can sit back and enjoy the entertainment of horse racing and also car racing on the half-mile long track.

The fairgrounds also consist of livestock barns, speed barns and an airport suitable for small plans to land. Brown County took over the Tristate Fair Grounds in 1933 and by 1935 they were already hosting the first Brown Country Fair. Since then it has continued to be a favourite place for locals to enjoy social events.

The venue for the Brown County Horse Races is located just outside the town of Aberdeen at 12825-393 Ave. at the country fairgrounds.

For visitors arriving from out of town, cheap Aberdeen airport hotels can be found along with additional horse racing dates. There will be more horse racing events at the Brown Country Fairgrounds from 21st May to 22nd May and 28th May to 30th May 2011.
