DirectRooms.com reports that a sponsored walk will be taking place in the gardens of Chichester’s prestigious Stansted House that hopes to raise thousands of pounds for hospitals within West Sussex.

The Hearts, Flowers and Memories Annual Charity Walk is being run by St Richards and the West Sussex Hospitals Charity as a way to help bring money to the hospitals to buy equipment and provide better care for the patients. For the event people will be asked to plant a heart shaped flower in a dedicated copse at Stansted Park as an act of remembrance for passed love ones or simply to add to the beauty of the grounds.

There are two courses for the walks which will take place from 9:30 on 8th May 2011. The first walk is two miles and the second is three and half miles and fund raisers can choose either one depending on how energetic they feel. Entrance fees are set at£10 for adults and £5 for the under 16’s and children below the age of five go free. For families of four or more a special rate of £25 applies.

While at the grounds visitors and people travelling from Stansted Airport hotels can also opt to be guided around the inside of the house although separate charges do apply.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “The organisers hope to see lots of people turning out to support the hospitals and gather funds. As people travel to Chichester hotels will become busy and finding a room may be more difficult.”
