DirectRooms.com reports that Irish choral choir Cois Cladaigh are making a special trip to Spain this November to perform a series of intimate concerts in Cordoba and Seville.
The concerts are part of the choir’s 30th anniversary celebrations and as well as the Spanish dates they’ll be visiting key destinations around Ireland. The repertoire of songs on each night is set to include a compilation of modern choral songs taking influence from the most popular pieces from North America, Ireland, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. Added to this the choir specializes in music from the 15th and 16th century, from countries around Europe and they’ll be including a selection of popular classics during the shows.
Over the choir’s 30 year history they’ve performed at major choral festivals around the world including a significant number of competitions in Ireland. Awards have included best national chamber choir at the Cork festival and winners at the Church Competition for three years in a row.
The concerts represent a rare opportunity for people to see the choir in Spain and tickets for each of the nights are going to be popular. Choral music fans booked into a hotel Cordoba City Centre can attend the evenings which will be happening from 1st to 6th November 2011.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “The dates that the choir arrives in Cordoba will have an impact on hotels in the area. Visitors should be cautious and try to make a reservation early just in case some locations are left without availability.”
