Over the weekend of 25th to 27th November, the Cape Town Festival of Beer will be offering visitors the chance to sample a multitude of beers from around the world.

The festival already has confirmation from several leading breweries including the makers of Corona, Paulaner, Tiger, Singha, Erdinger and Carling Black Label. Other beers from independent microbreweries can also be sampled and visitors will even be able to see how some of the beers are made during the brewing demonstrations.

To make sure drinkers don’t go hungry there will be a good selection of food stalls near the beer tents and watching the braaing competition is sure to work up an appetite. Judges will be looking for the best grillers behind the barbeque with contestants being awarded points for flavour and avoiding any burning.

There are few things manlier than beer and meat, but the festival isn’t just a men only event as there’ll also be children’s play area and live bands to keep everyone entertained. The boys however won’t fail to appreciate the glamorous girls serving up the drinks and tables can be arranged where groups of ten can opt for a dedicated fraulein who will serve all the drinks so customers don’t even have to go to the bar.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at commented: “This a major event and hotels in Cape Town City Centre are going to be significantly busier so early bookings are recommended.”
