DirectRooms.com reports that this year’s conference for the World Arabian Horse Organisation (WAHO) will be taking place in Doha where members will be meeting to discuss the latest methods for breeding these unique horses.
The conference will run from 29th October until 2nd November 2011 and marks the first time that the event has been staged in Qatar. As a result the conference will also include several tours of the country’s leading stud farms and equestrian facilities to show attendees the significant results that Qatari breeders have achieved with their horses.
The tours will precede and follow the main conference and will be conducted to places such as Al Shaqab Stud farm and the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club where attendees can see some of the country’s champion horses in shows and on the race track.
Each year there are around 250 new births, resulting in a total of close to 2,000 Arabian horses in Qatar and as part of the talks experts will be talking about how Qatar and other countries can improve breeding numbers. Talks are also set to go into detail about the newest techniques and science used for breeding and the leading breeders concerned with Arabian horses have been invited to talk at the event.
The meeting is set to feature members coming from over 65 different countries to join in with the discussions and this is set to have a significant impact on finding hotel Doha City Centre availability.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “The conference will see hundreds of attendees booking up hotels so people will need to make early reservations if travelling over the conference dates.”
