DirectRooms.com announces that Brisbane’s International Film Festival will be once again immersing film fans in the latest and best international releases.

The festival will be showcasing films from almost every genre to give it a wide appeal and make it suitable for all audiences. Not only will there be world cinema but also documentaries, horror films, retrospectives and experimental works from new directors.

For children there’ll be a selection of kid’s films and animations, and for all ages there is a short film competition where people are being invited to get behind the camera and make their own mini movies.

As 2011 marks the festival’s 20th anniversary audiences are being treated to some extra special films with opening night featuring ‘Attack’ the Block’ which stars comedian Nick Frost desperately trying to save the world from an alien invasion.

Another highlight will be closing night for which organisers are saving one of the best films until last. ‘The Skin I Live In’ is a combination of dark thriller and gothic horror which has already received acclaimed reviews with Antonio Banderas in the lead role.

The festival is starting on 3rd until 13th November and the films will be shown over different locations including the Palace Barracks, Tribal Theatre, Palace Centro cinemas and the State Library.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “As people come to watch the movies finding availability at a hotel Brisbane City Centre choice will become more complication for people that haven’t prebooked online.”
