September 12, 2012, 2:13 pm -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon returns to London's most iconic parks and thoroughfares for the fourth year this October raising money for more than 200 partner charities. Race entry is now closed, however there is lots going on throughout the day for spectators and running enthusiasts to enjoy.
On Sunday 7 October the Brakes Food and Fitness Festival, running from 8am-4pm in Hyde Park, should keep spectators amused with sporting activities, live music and entertainment, arts and crafts, loads of free giveaways and a farmers market stocked with delicious, healthy and filling produce from across the UK.
Of course spectators will be able to watch the race from giant screens in Hyde Park or head to Kensington Gardens, St. James' Park, Green Park and other major London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace , the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Albert Hall to catch all the action.
Aside from the main event, there's also a 3km run for 11-16 year olds and if people don't want to work up a sweat they can stick to the Hearts and Heritage Walk, following the same route or a shorter six mile version – they'll even learn a little bit about London's history too.
To enjoy the action in full it's best to stay as close to epicentre of activity as possible. HotelMap.com can help visitors find hotels near Hyde Park quickly and easily.
