Anthony Asadullah Samad, prominent national columnist, scholar,
Associate Professor and Managing Director of the Urban Issues Forum.
The focus of
this partnership will be to strengthen open communications within
the African American Small Business Community.

Samad will be partnering with Turning Point Communications to author
exclusive, original bimonthly columns for Turning Point Magazine,
and bring his live Urban Issues Forum discussion forums to several
Turning Point
Communications national events in 2005. The first opportunity will
be Turning Point Magazine presents Anthony Asadullah Samad’s
Urban Issues Forum at the 8th Annual
African American Business Summit, Thursday June 23, 2005, at the
Westin Resort and Spa The Westin Mission Hills Resort, 71-333 Dinah
Shore Drive, Rancho Mirage, CA
92270. This event partnership of the Urban Issues Forum will be
designed to publicly educate the urban business community on critical
issues. Turning Point Magazine’s regular feature columnists
- “Political Watch” by Atty. Anita Estelle and “Freedom
Suite” by Wallace Ford - are just a few of the erudite individuals
scheduled to participate in the discussions.

American Business Summit; The Access To Success Business Tour in
Detroit late summer of 2005; and the Congressional Black Caucus
Legislative Weekend in Washington, D.C. in September 2005.

About Anthony
Asadullah Samad:
Anthony Asadullah Samad is an author, columnist and scholar known
for his fiery analysis of social, political and economic issues
that impact American society. As one of the most read featured columnists
in the African American press over the past 13 years, Samad’s
various weekly editorial commentaries contributes to newspapers
and cyber websites that appear in over 100 U.S. markets.
An Associate
Professor of Political Science and African American Studies at East
Los Angeles College, Samad has a Masters of Arts in Public Administration
(Public Finance specialization) from the University of Southern
California, a second Masters of Arts Degree, in Political Economy,
from the Claremont Graduate University’s School of Politics
and Economics, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Claremont
Graduate University, completing his doctoral study, with a dissertation,
entitled, “Legal and Policy Interpretations of the Fourteenth
Amendment in the Post Brown Era: A 50 Year Case Study on the Policy
Implementation Challenges of Brown v. Board of
Education.”
Samad is also
President of Samad and Associates, a strategic planning/ urban affairs
firm specializing in the assessment and management of public policy,
economic development, urban, social and race issues. His firm’s
15-year efforts have
generated over $300 million in economic development opportunities
in urban and rural communities nationwide. Mr. Samad is also currently
the managing director of the
Urban Issues Forum of Greater Los Angeles, and is the author of
two books; the Essence magazine bestseller, Souls For Sale: The
Diary of An Ex-Colored Man (Kabili Press, 2002), and his current
release, 50 Years After Brown: The State of Black Equality In America
(Kabili Press, 2005).
